Dr. Marcela Rodriguez-Campo (She/ Ella) is an educator and scholar practitioner. She is a formerly undocumented Colombian immigrant, first-generation college graduate, and Latina feminist scholar-activist.
Dr. Rodriguez-Campo has 10+ years of experience in K-20 Education. She has served as a local educator, university instructor, facilitator, diversity officer, DEI Director, local organizer, and consultant. Her scholarship explores the intersections of education, immigration, and family separation. She holds expertise in multicultural education, culturally responsive pedagogy, strategic planning, and leadership development. She earned her PhD in Curriculum & Instruction with a specialization in Cultural Studies, International Education, and Multicultural Education from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. She also holds a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction from UNLV, and a bachelor's degree in English from Washington State University.
She has served as an advisory member on local and national organizations including: The Presidents' Alliance on Higher Education & Immigration; the Nevada System of Higher Education Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, & Access Council; the City of Las Vegas Book Festival Literary Committee; an Executive member on the Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social; and many others. Her work & writing has been featured in national & local publications and organizations.
She is a gardener, poet, roller-skater, and catdog mami.
